Protecting Your Space From Rodent Infestations
What is the Difference Between Mice & Rats?
Mice
As mice move around, they will leave their scent behind, which will attract other mice and rats and encourage them to enter your home as well. Mice carry different bacteria and harmful viruses, such as salmonella and hantavirus as well as multiple parasites, including mites, ticks, tapeworms, and ringworms. Mice will gnaw through drywall, nibble through wiring, and become a foul-smelling health hazard as they die behind walls and under floors.
Rats
Rats appear larger and more intelligent than mice. Rats work in clans led by a dominant male and recognize rats in their clan by the scent of their breath. Rats recognize by scent and can smell objects up to 80 feet away. They possess the ability to swim and can survive for two days in open water. Rats will chew through nearly anything and are well equipped to survive almost any condition.
